Who doesn’t love the cheery, almost glowing yellow of the sweet Western Buttercup! Amidst our often damp, grey days of spring, it lights up our meadows as if the fields were kissed by the sun itself. This bright beacon is a wonderful and much needed early season resource for native bees…and an endearing addition to your cottage gardens, front borders of perennial beds, and meadowscaping endeavors. The flower is perfectly named because it really does resemble shiny cups of butter! With low, mounding foliage, the blooms are held neatly above on slender flowering stems.
