This perennial grows 3 to 4 ft in height and flowers in June, occasionally will repeat bloom in the fall. Give at least 6 hours of sun and you've got yourself a little sleepy time root. But do note there are a few folks out there that this plant will have the opposite effect on, those humans who are more cat-like, if you will. Takes about three mature plants to make a quart of tincture with enough root left to replant.

It is in flower from June to August, and the seeds ripen from July to September. The species is hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs) and is pollinated by Bees, flies, beetles.
Suitable for: light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils. Suitable pH: mildly acid, neutral and basic (mildly alkaline) soils. It cannot grow in the shade. It prefers moist soil.
