Plant Description: A fast growing herbaceous perennial that sprouts one to several, stout, pale green erect stems. Leaves have three distinctly sharp-toothed lobes and are generally found only at the base of the plant. The underside of all leaves covered in small white hairs. Inflorescence a large spike comprised of up to 50 deep purplish blue flowers with one sepal forming a nectar spur.

Landscape Use and Ecological Function: This plant is found in wet meadows, bogs, stream banks, and open coniferous forests in the Olympic and Cascade Mountains in high elevations, 5200-10,500 ft.
