Selaginella erythropus ‘Sanguinea’, or Ruby Red Club Moss, is a low-growing, leafy Brazilian species featuring a stunning burgundy color on the underside. Its dense clumping habit creates a colorful accent.
Club mosses are vascular plants that in their natural habitats, form creeping or scrambling clumps in deep shade. As such, selaginellas thrive in very humid environments away from any direct natural light. Some bright indirect light can be helpful to maintain the vivid color of the plant.
