Made of insoluble crushed quartzite or granite, grit is necessary for the healthy development of the gizzard, which aids in digestion and allows for maximum nutrient benefits from poultry feed. Starter grit is recommended for layer chicks and ducklings from hatching to 8 weeks and for broiler chicks from hatching to 4 weeks.
