Perennial bunchgrass. Once was the dominant grass in the prairies in the Willamette Valley. Great companion plant for wildflowers. Foliage is often a gray blue color, flowering stems are purple, red, and tan hues.

  • Direct sowing: Seeds best sown in fall. Seeds will germinate readily in fall and grow steadily throughout the winter. Can be sown in spring (before April).
  • Growing transplants: Seeds do not exhibit dormancy but germinate best in cool temperatures.
