In this workshop you will learn basic horticultural skills and problem-solving knowledge for propagating native plants on your own from seed. We will also cover how to select the right materials and methods for the right project. This is a hands-on class with the opportunity to use and take home your very own seed starting kit! You too can be a participant in native plant conservation by implementing best practices that enhance diversity of your local native flora and, by extension, the health of your local ecosystems.

This class is a partnership event between Floraboros and Sparrowhawk Native Plants. Come bring your seeds purchased through a Sparrowhawk pop-up event and you will have the opportunity to address any questions you have for the plant species you intend to germinate! The workshop will be taught by Floraboros native nursery owner and conservation horticulturist, Roxy Olsson (they/them), provisioner of some of SymbiOp’s native plant stock. Floraboros is a Portland-based small wholesale native nursery, motivated to connect the community with their local ecosystems and cultivate ecological literacy.
