Plant Description: A very sweet smelling bee-balm species native throughout Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, and Idaho. Leaves are mint-like in shade from dark green to a green-gray. Flower heads have bracts of pink-purple puff ball like flowers. Very aromatic and spread slightly.

Landscape Use and Ecological Function: Somewhat sprawling, but not aggressive like mint, this is excellent in tea gardens and food forests as well as in containers. This plant grows in forest openings, edges, and roadside ditches. Extremely valuable to bumble bees and moths.
