Plant Description: A Mini Meadow Mixer provides a starting template for establishing a native meadow-scape in full-sun to partial shade conditions. The mix of ground covers, upright flowering perennials, and grasses provide basic vegetative layers to compete with non-native pioneer species, provide erosion control, temperature regulation, carbon sequestration, dynamic habitat, attractive seasonality, and protection for sowing new seeds in between plantings. Recommendations to further enhance the meadow include adding native bulbs and sowing annuals in-between the “Mini Meadow Mixer plants” as they establish. Each 6-pack covers from1-3 square feet if planted at 6 in - 1 ft on center using triangulated placement (see figure).

Landscape Use and Ecological Function:
Idaho fescue (Festuca idahoensis var. romeri) provides air-flow between broad-leaved
herbaceous meadow plants, as well as forage and habitat for native vertebrates and
invertebrates. Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) is a drought tolerant ground cover, provides erosion control, possesses medicinal qualities, as well as is an attractant to invertebrates that prey on aphids. Showy fleabane (Erigeron speciosus) is a bunching and drought resistant perennial, and supports pollinators from early to mid summer. *NEVER CONSUME PLANTS WITHOUT PROPER ID*
