Grafted and locally grown by one of our staff! On Malus fusca (Pacific Crabapple) rootstock for better hardiness in the PNW.

Plant Description:

A flavorful, large, red-and-yellow apple that ripens for us in mid August and is highly scab resistant. It has proven to thrive in maritime and even coastal areas. Despite ripening early it keeps for months! A sweet and tart mixture of flavors makes it good for fresh eating, pies, or sauce.

The tree is spreading and a vigorous grower, with great scab resistance.

  • Watering needs: regular, can tolerate dry summers once established
  • Sun needs: Full sun to part shade
  • Pollination: Apples need another variety nearby for pollination. Neighboring trees often offer sufficient pollen for good fruit set.
  • Soil needs: moist, well-draining
  • Fruiting Time: ripens late July to early August
