(55-60 days) Big and bright orange flowers with multiple rows of ray florets. 'Alpha" has a high resin content and the 2-3" flowers make it an excellent medicinal variety. Calendula petals can be eaten raw or dried as a fun accompaniment to any dish. Self sows readily. For best results direct sow when soil temperatures have warmed to about 70 degrees.
