Very plump and rounded black beans. Can be harvested fresh as snap or shell beans, but we use them exclusively as a dry bean.
Direct sow 3" apart when the soil is warm, usually around June 1; a late chill can harm beans. Stop watering in August, and wait to harvest until pods are completely dry. If wet weather is coming, whole plants can be pulled and dried indoors.
