Learn all about Beaver Ecology and wetlands up-close in this guided tour of a local Beaver community. Beavers are one of the single most important Native Keystone Species of the PNW!

The Wetlands Conservancy will host this free tour of Beaver Dams at Dawson Creek in Hillsboro.

Waders will be provided!

Date: Saturday, November 23rd

Time: 10am-12pm

Location: Dawson Creek in Hillsboro

Address: 1255 NE 48th Ave, Hillsboro, OR 97124

We'll meet behind the Costco Fuel Center where we'll have a tent and table setup to go over some wetland facts and safety protocol about walking in waders, while people get suited up. Then we'll walk North along the creek channel, spotting beaver structures and wetland highlights along the way.

This site is great for birdwatching, especially because it's home to a community of rare acorn woodpeckers, so binoculars and plant identification apps are not provided, but are encouraged!

This event is free and family friendly and all safety equipment will be provided, but we can only accommodate participants with an adult size 5 or larger boot. Participants must also feel comfortable walking on uneven terrain.

The start location for this tour is a 12 minute walk from the Hawthorn Farm MAX station, which the Red and Blue MAX lines stop at.
