About Augury Press

I'm Faith and I started my printmaking business called Augury Press in 2017. I specialize in linocut prints and my designs play with silliness, the fantastical, and sometimes pop culture. My prints vary in size from quite small to very large, perfect for decorating any size home, or even just a room. I also sell a range of products beyond prints including shirts, stickers, pins, totes, magnets, and more! The majority of prints that I make are called linocuts. A linocut is a form of relief printing in which a design is hand carved into a linoleum block that is then inked with a brayer to produce an image. There are many reasons why I fell in love with this method of printmaking, but one of the most important is the physical record that my hand leaves on each print. No two prints are alike, whether it is the registration of two layers being slightly off or there being some “noise” or “chatter” on a print (this is when bits of carved block outside of the image also get inked and printed). If I wanted my work to look like perfect screen prints, that would be my method of choice. If this type of work is not for you, please take your business elsewhere!
