Plant Description: Tapertip Onion is one of many Willamette Valley native onions. Known to be both edible and showy with vibrant purple flowers that bloom through Spring and early Summer. Stocks grow about 1 foot tall and put out 10-15 cascading blooms per stock. Bulbs and leaves are edible but are best in small quantities.

Landscape Use and Ecological Function: Often grows in dry meadows and well draining, rocky hillside. Excellent value to pollinators. We suggest using this plant in xeric conditions.
