Classic pinto beans adapted for our northern climate. Plants have shorts runners and are sometimes grown as a bush bean but we recommend using a trellis. Pintos are underappreciated!

Direct sow when the soil is warm, usually around June 1; a late chill can harm beans. Plant 4-6" apart and provide a trellis at least 6 ft tall. Allow beans to dry on the plant; if wet weather is coming, whole plants can be pulled and dried indoors.
