Plant Description: A slender, small growing perennial violet with 5 petaled flowers. The petals usually are a soft light purple/lilac/lavender hue with deeper purple lines in the petals. Leaves are toothed and primarily basal.

Landscape and Ecological Function: Most common in low-big elevations in moist ecosystems, particularly wetlands, cool stream edges, marshes, wet meadows, and places with seasonal flooding. We recommend planting this species along stream banks or moist locations with morning sun.
