Plant Description: A prolific native annual in the sunflowr family with bright yellow flowers with a sometimes brown-ish base/center on tall bracketed stems. Leaves are long, thin, and primarily basal. The flowers often open up in cool morning sun and close during hot afternoon sun with multiple bloom cycles throughout the summer. Seeds are edible and can be ground into flower.
