Plant Description: A native evergreen conifer known for its tendency to contort its trunk. Also a notably smaller, bushy native pine tree, typically around 40 feet tall, but still occasionally growing as tall as 100 feet. Often found in very dry, rocky, and sandy locations like rocky forests and coastal bluffs. Needs grow in twos and alternate along each stem, bark is red, brown, and gray.

These shorter pines will attract a wide variety of animals to your garden. Known to attract woodpeckers, a wide variety of songbirds, crossbills, jays, and even grouse. Attracts squirrels, chipmunks, and pine white butterfly.
