Found most commonly in Northern California and infrequently in Southern Oregon, this shrub will benefit from a well draining location, though generally tolerant of our milder weather up North.

Width: 5-15 ft

Light Needs: part sun-part shade

Soil Needs : Well draining

Water needs: Even moisture, drought tolerant when established but can benefit from occasional supplemental water during severe weather

Ecological Function: This showy shrub is excellent in gardens. We recommend planting this species where there is some coverage and some moisture on well draining slopes. Attracts birds and pollinators.
