Landscape Use and Ecological Function: Though all types of Penstemon naturally grow in partial sun to shady places on mossy rocks and outcrops, Broad-leaved Penstemon is more tolerant of moisture and various soil types. Likes damp sites along forest edges and can be planted at the edge of rain gardens. Fantastic pollinator plant that attract hummingbirds, native bees, and more. Foliage creates cover for tiny soil-dwelling creatures.
