Plant Description: A quintessential wildflower bulb species of the Willamette Valley. When you drive the valley and see drifts and, in some cases, entire fields of blue in the spring, it is likely this flower you are seeing. Dark to lighter blue flowers occur in spires that rise up to 2 ft in height. Naturalizes & self-sows if allowed. Well adapted to the garden and easy to grow. Beautiful in drifts or in mixed perennial beds - but best planted where it can dry out some during summer.

Landscape Use and Ecological Function: This plant can be found in moist meadows, open hillsides, forest edges, and moist areas that dry out in summer. We recommend planting common camas in woodland gardens, meadowscapes, food forests, or in perennial vegetable gardens. It is great for attracting pollinators.
