Can there be a plant any more useful? I kinda doubt it. Is there anything easier to grow or that can possibly outcompete your lawn. It's right up there. It is also a useful nectar source for ladybeetles and is said to speed up your compost. Just be sure they get a full day of sun, water when you plant and then all should be good. Will spread underground and self seed.

Achillea millefolium is a PERENNIAL growing to 0.6 m (2ft) by 0.6 m (2ft in) at a fast rate.
It is in flower from June to August, and the seeds ripen from July to September. The species is hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs) and is pollinated by Insects.
It is noted for attracting wildlife.
Suitable for: light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils, prefers well-drained soil and can grow in nutritionally poor soil. Suitable pH: mildly acid, neutral and basic (mildly alkaline) soils and can grow in very alkaline soils.
It can grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade. It prefers dry or moist soil and can tolerate drought. The plant can tolerate maritime exposure.
