Harvest aerial parts of the plant in bloom to release heat during flu and fevers. Helps with associated body aches too. Pretty easy in the garden with full sun, supplemental watering starting in July, though with our clay soils it does okay during the dry months. It likes rich soil though, so start them out with a good mix of compost. Grows 2-3 ft in height, flowers in July. Great pollinator plant.
Eupatorium perfoliatum is a PERENNIAL growing to 1.2 m (4ft). It is in flower from July to September. The species is hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs) and is pollinated by Insects. The plant is self-fertile.
Suitable for: light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils and prefers well-drained soil. Suitable pH: mildly acid, neutral and basic (mildly alkaline) soils. It can grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade. It prefers moist soil.
