This mint is a moderate spreader if you keep them wet and with at least 1/2 day of sun. The plant is harvested in flower which generally occurs in August. I have recently been introducing them into rain gardens. Plus there is nothing this world needs more than to turn the dial way back to a more sustainable rhythm. Skullcap can help.

Scutellaria lateriflora is a PERENNIAL growing to 0.6 m (2ft) by 0.4 m (1ft 4in).
It is in flower from June to August, and the seeds ripen from July to September. The species is hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs) and is pollinated by Bees, flies.
Suitable for: light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils. Suitable pH: mildly acid, neutral and basic (mildly alkaline) soils. It cannot grow in the shade. It prefers moist soil.
