Kincaid's Lupine Greeting Card CC

Marek Stanton is an artist based in Estacada, Oregon. He primarily draws or paints with watercolor to create images of the natural world around him. He is the designer of the art for the Oregon Pollinator License plate. He is part of the Master Melittologist program at OSU.

 Featuring Kincaid's Lupine (Lupinus oreganus var. kincaidii), an endemic flower of the Willametted Valley, is host to the Fender's Blue Butterfly (Icaricia icariodes fenderi), a species once thought extinct. Both the plant and the butterfly are threatened, with less than 1% of their habitat remaining. Fortunately, thanks to the efforts of conservationists, the population has been growing.
