Productive and plump dry pole bean. Cranberry beans are a staple of northern Italian cuisine. This strain was adapted to the PNW by Anthony Boutard of Ayers Creek Farm, and further adapted for the Portland area.
Direct sow when the soil is warm, usually around June 1; a late chill can harm beans. Plant 4-6" apart and provide a trellis at least 6 ft tall. Allow beans to dry on the plant; if wet weather is coming, whole plants can be pulled and dried indoors.
