Interesting semi-evergreen vine from Japan. Burgundy colored flowers bloom April-May. Fruits are unusual purple pods with jelly-like edible center that ripen late summer. 5 rounded leaflets make up the pretty leaves. Full sun to partial shade. Vigorous grower. Hardy to zone 5.
